I have over 25 years of experience counselling. Since opening my private practice on the Saanich Peninsula over 20 years ago, I have provided couples, individuals and families with counselling rooted in non-judgement, empathy and compassionate communication.
Increasingly I have specialized in working with couples and also with individuals who have suffered abuse. Whatever your age or stage of life, you can count on my understanding and ability to assist you to find solutions and tools to make it better.
|I am a life-long student, continually striving to improve my understanding, knowledge and myself. Counselling has been my passion. As a public health nurse at a mental health clinic in Ontario, my experience working with parents, adolescents and children inspired my desire for more education, specifically to excel as a counselor. I earned my Masters degree in 1986.
Married (over 30 years) with 2 grown children, 1 grown stepson and 5 grandchildren. I have also had experience as a foster parent to an eight year old boy until he could return to his family. I enjoy sculpting with clay, painting, Nia, swimming and volunteering with ESS as an Emergency Social Services volunteer.
I have made a point of meeting the indigenous people of the many places I have visited in the world. Canadian born, I have lived in Australia (doing Community Development) and the USA (Youth & Family counsellor, School counsellor), and have offered courses & service in Romania, India, Burma & Tanzania, to name a few.
My commitment to you is to offer confidential, caring and effective counselling so you will experience empathy, hope and positive change. No matter what problems you carry, I will assist you to make it better.
